Rank is the Only Reward

We made one thing non-negotiable: you cannot leap a league. You climb it, rung by rung, and every rung is paid for in victories.

The Arena runs on rating, and rating runs on results. To enter the next league you must first reach the rating its gate demands — and the only way to raise it is to beat other players, duel after duel. There is no buying your way up the ladder and no skipping a tier you haven't earned.

Notice what isn't here: a currency prize for winning. The Arena pays out in standing, not coin. The reward for victory is the climb itself — a higher rank, a stronger mask, and a name that starts to mean something to the people you're fighting.

That keeps the Arena honest. Everyone you meet in your league is there because they fought their way in, and the only thing separating you from the tier above is whether you can out-read the players standing in your way.

And the whole city is watching. A live top 100 — the Champions of the Shadow City — tracks the strongest duelists in real time, so you always know exactly who sits above you and how far the summit really is. Climbing into that list is the open goal every serious player is chasing.
